Unit 5 · HydrogeologyHigh priority

For equal spheres, cubic packing gives the highest porosity (about 47.6%) and rhombohedral packing the lowest (about 26%).

Why: rhombohedral packing nests each sphere into the hollows of the layer below, leaving less empty space.

Preparing for the Kerala PSC Geological Assistant exam

Geological Assistant Prep is made for candidates of the Kerala PSC Geological Assistant recruitment in the Ground Water Department (Category No. 46/2011). The technical paper tests degree-level geology across five units: geotectonics and geomorphology, structural geology and stratigraphy, mineralogy, petrology, and hydrogeology.

The cards and questions are written from Kerala PSC previous question papers for geology posts, including Junior Hydrogeologist, Assistant Geologist and HSST Geology, along with UPSC Geo-Scientist and CGWB hydrogeologist papers. So the same revision is useful if you are also writing other Kerala PSC geologist exams.

What you get

Four tools that work together. Learn a fact, get tested on it, see how the PSC asked it, then sit a full paper under exam conditions.

Daily fact cards

Up to 25 new cards a day plus the ones due for revision. Rate each card Again, Good or Easy and the app plans when you see it next, a day later or weeks later.

  • One fact per card, with a line on why it is true
  • Marked high, medium or low priority from past papers

Unit quizzes

Pick any of the five units and practise its questions. After each answer you see why the right option is right and why the tempting one is wrong.

  • 1,212 questions across all units
  • Each question linked to the cards it tests

Past-paper practice

A separate set built from what has actually been asked in Kerala PSC, UPSC Geo-Scientist, CGWB and other geology papers, so you know the style before the day.

  • 712 cards tagged with the paper that asked them
  • Questions are written fresh, not copied

Full mock tests

100 questions from all five units in 75 minutes. +1 for a right answer, −⅓ for a wrong one, nothing for a blank. Results only at the end, like the real hall.

  • New mix of questions every attempt

Yes. ₹3,000 once. No renewal, no hidden plan. The introductory price may go up for new buyers later. Your access stays.

How much time do I need each day?

About 20 to 30 minutes for the day's cards. Add a unit quiz when you have time, and a mock test once a week as the exam gets closer.

Does it cover the whole syllabus?

Yes. All five units of the Geological Assistant syllabus are covered. The syllabus section above lists every topic.

Which Kerala PSC exams does it help with?

It is built for the Kerala PSC Geological Assistant exam in the Ground Water Department. Because it covers degree-level geology and draws on past papers for Junior Hydrogeologist, Assistant Geologist and HSST Geology, it is also useful revision for those Kerala PSC geologist posts.

Are previous question papers included?

Yes. 712 cards are tied to real past-paper questions, and the past-paper practice set lets you answer them the way the PSC asked them. The sample questions above are tagged with their source paper.

What language is it in?

English, the language of the technical paper.

Is there an Android app?

The Android app is being built. Your purchase will unlock it with the same Google account. Until then, the web app works on any phone browser.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, in set cases, such as being charged twice or paying without access. See the Refund Policy.

Is this the official Kerala PSC syllabus?

The cards follow the published syllabus for Geological Assistant (Cat. No. 46/2011). We are an independent study aid, not the PSC.

Does it guarantee selection?

No. It helps you prepare. No product can promise a rank.
