Privacy Policy

This policy describes how KSEBEA Engineers Association, a mobile application published by Calecute Technologies LLC, handles personal data. It applies to the Android application com.calecutech.ksebea and its iOS equivalent, and to the KSEBEA app they connect to.

KSEBEA lets a member see their unit's office bearers and activities, read association news and the Hydel Bullet, pay their membership dues, and raise a grievance, all from a phone.

Who it is for: Members of the KSEB Engineers Association (KSEBEA). Not affiliated with or endorsed by KSEB or any government body.

What we collect, and why

Personal identifiers

  • Name, email address and profile picture, from Google Sign-In

Creating and securing your account. We never see your Google password.

Personal identifiers

  • Phone number and address
  • Your unit, and your office-bearer role where you hold one

Showing your unit's office bearers and activities, and routing correspondence to the right person.

Photosoptional

  • A profile photo you choose to upload

Shown on your profile in place of your Google account picture, if you replace it.

Financial information

  • Whether your membership dues for a period are paid, and the amount

Recording that dues have been paid. Card, UPI and netbanking details are entered on Razorpay's own screen and are never sent to or stored on our servers.

Messages and other user-generated content

  • The text of a grievance you submit

Routing your grievance to the right office bearer and letting them respond to you.

Who we share it with

  • Office bearers of your own unit and of KSEBEA centrally, to the extent their role requires it — for example, a grievance you raise is visible to the office bearer it's routed to.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with data brokers.

How long we keep it

Your account and membership record are kept while you remain a KSEBEA member. Records that dues were paid are kept as the association's own financial record and are not deleted with the account.

Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and stored on access-controlled servers. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never in a readable form. A member can only reach their own profile and their own unit's records through the app; office-bearer screens are restricted to members holding that role.

What we do not collect

  • We do not collect your contacts, calendar, call logs or SMS.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites, and there is no analytics or advertising SDK in the app.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers and show no advertising.
  • We never receive your Google password, and never your card, UPI or netbanking details — those are entered on Razorpay's own screen.

Services that process data for us

We use the following providers. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

Google Sign-In

Authenticates you and tells us your name, email address and profile picture. We never see your Google password.

Processes deposit payments. Card, UPI and netbanking details are entered on Razorpay's own screen and are never sent to or stored on our servers.

Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage and App Check)

Hosts the member database and uploaded files (profile photos, bulletins). App Check confirms requests come from the genuine app and holds no personal data. Google stores this on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.

Where your data is held

Data is stored on servers operated by our hosting providers. Some of those servers are outside India, and the providers named above may process data in other countries under their own contractual safeguards. By using the app you consent to that transfer.

Why we are allowed to hold it

We process your data to provide the service you asked for — a membership account, unit information, dues payment and grievance handling. You give consent when you create an account, and you may withdraw it by requesting account deletion below.

Your rights

You may ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@calecutech.com, or follow the account deletion instructions. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may also raise a grievance with us at the same address; we respond within 30 days.

Raising a grievance

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, write to The Grievance Officer at info@calecutech.com, Calecute Technologies LLC, Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, India. We acknowledge within 7 days and respond within 30. If you remain dissatisfied you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
