Privacy Policy
Grahanila is made by Calecute Technologies (OPC) Private Limited ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Grahanila Android and iOS apps and this website. For India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the data fiduciary for the information described here. Contact: info@calecutech.com.
In short
- We keep the birth details you enter (name, date, time and place) so we can calculate charts. Name, birth date, time and place are encrypted on our servers.
- You sign in with Google. We get your email address, never your password.
- We do not use your phone's location. Your birth place is what you type.
- No ads, no selling of data, no third-party tracking. Charts are calculated by rules, not sent to an AI.
- Delete your account in Settings at any time.
1. What we collect

Not collected: your phone's location, contacts, photos, microphone, call logs, SMS or advertising IDs. We never receive your Google password. We do not take payments at present.
2. Permissions
- Internet: to sign in and calculate charts on our server.
- Notifications: for the daily fact and alerts you choose.
- Run at start-up: to re-schedule those notifications after your phone restarts.
3. How we use it
- To calculate and show your charts, and produce the printable PDF.
- To send the notifications you choose.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- We do not sell your data, show advertising, or use your data to train AI models.
4. Who we share it with
Only the service providers below, each processing data for us under its own privacy terms. We share data with authorities only when Indian law requires it.
- Google Firebase Authentication: signing you in (privacy policy)
- Google Sign-In: your Google account (privacy policy)
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivering notifications (privacy policy)
- Google Fonts: fonts in the app, fetched from Google (privacy policy)
5. What other users can see
Nobody else sees your profiles unless you create a share link. Anyone holding that link can view that one chart until you revoke it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your profiles while your account is open. Deleting a profile removes it at once. Deleting your account removes everything, as described on the deletion page.
7. Security
Data travels over HTTPS. Names and birth details are encrypted in our database with a key kept separately from it. Only you can open your profiles through your signed-in account.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by writing to info@calecutech.com. We reply within 30 days. To delete your account, see Delete your account. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Children
Grahanila is for adults. You may add a child's birth details to the family vault as their parent or guardian; children should not hold accounts themselves.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
